"pretty unique within the Barossa...readers who enjoy the style are advised to jump on these wines as soon as new releases appear, as they sell out rapidly"
Joe Czerwinski for The Wine Advocate/Robertparker.com
Kiwi-born and raised Fraser McKinley continues to turn out small quantities of top-notch Shiraz from the Hoffmann family's Dallwitz Vineyard in the Ebenezer section of the northern Barossa Valley (2007 first vintage of his own project after working with Torbreck and The Standis). For readers unfamiliar with the wines, McKinley picks relatively early, as one of his goals is to avoid acidification, and utilizes whole bunches for vinification. The 20%–25% new oak used each year is never a major element in the vintage offering.
